The 21st century church is faced with a multitude of challenges from a secular culture that is increasingly hostile to their Christian faith. From gender ideology to sexuality to critical theory to expressive individualism to deconstruction and more, the challenges come fast and furious. It’s time for pastors, Christian educators and leaders to redouble our efforts, in order to equip our our people AND the next generation to navigate a chaotic culture with the truth of the Christian worldview. Brett Kunkle, founder and president of MAVEN, will discuss the challenges Christians face and what we need to do to equip the church to be salt and light in an increasingly hostile secular culture.

Brett Kunkle is the founder and president of MAVEN and co-pastor of Imago Dei Church in Orange County, California. He has more than 25 years of experience working with youth, parents and church leaders. In addition, Brett is a Teaching Fellow at the Impact 360 Institute. He was an associate editor for the Apologetics Study Bible for Students and co-authored A Practical Guide to Culture: Helping the Next Generation Navigate Today’s World and A Student’s Guide to Culture. He received his Master’s degree in philosophy of religion and ethics from Talbot School of Theology. Brett lives with his wife and five kids in Southern California.
